College Preparatory Division
This intensive program prepares students for college acceptance examinations and auditions to music departments.

The program includes private lessons, theory and harmony, music history, ear training and sight singing, and keyboard proficiency. All are necessary preparations for college music programs. Concentration will be on the student's instrument of choice and their areas of deficiency.

Private Lesson Division
This is private instruction on all instruments and voice for all ages and abilities. Lessons are designed to meet individual needs, desires, and time constraints. The level of lesson intensity is geared to student age, talent, goals, and availability of practice time.
Staff
CSM teachers are professional musicians, trained in teaching strategies and techniques. All teachers follow the school curriculum.

There are approximately 40 instructors with degrees in music, most having advanced graduate degrees and many are college professors. All of them are experienced teachers and performers. Each instructs on their specialty instrument.

Department chairpersons and directors assist teachers in maintaining high teaching standards and insuring the students learning progress and development. Office personnel assist students and parents with lesson appointments, tuition payments and administrative duties.
Acceptance to Any Division
Students are accepted on a continuing enrollment basis throughout the year. Lessons are encouraged through the summer months for continuity and progress.

All students interested in applying to the school must call to make an appointment for an interview with the director of the school. Application fee is $25.00. The interview will take approximately 45 minutes. Interviews must be conducted with the parents present.

If the student already plays an instrument, please bring their instrument and music to play a small selection of their choice. The audition is simply diagnostic, so please feel relaxed. If the student has an instrument but does not play, please bring it for assessment of appropriateness for the student.

If the student has never studied music and does not have an instrument, he or she will be tested for talent, musical aptitude, ability, readiness, and desire to study a musical instrument or voice.
Tuition
Private Lessons are $34.25 per half-hour. Discounts apply to more than 30 minutes per week and to additional family members. Ensembles are $250.00 per year, $100.00 per year for second ensemble for same person, and $150.00 for additional family members.
